Baby Schley at 4 Weeks

Since finding out we are pregnant, I've felt a variety of emotions. It's really hard not to tell people! I've felt very good this week and am learning how to eat properly and often. I've decided to keep a 'monthly' tab on the pregnancy and once the pea is born. So, here is Baby Schley and mama at the gestational age of 4 weeks, 3 days...

:: the size of an orange seed::
:: first slight waves of nausea::
:: fatigue, aka awesome excuse for a nap::
:: increased thirst (I love water)::
:: daily reading of What to Expect and checking the message boards::
::understanding the week system... I'm 4 weeks pregnant but in my 5th week::
:: sweet pea's heart is developing::
::mama is glad to be on summer vacation in order to relax and enjoy the first pregnancy and baby to join our family::
::looking forward to the cabin next week for some further relaxation::
::prenatal vitamin, folate, and DHA each day::
:: meditations each night, chanting 'happy and healthy mama and baby'::
::gorgeous flowers and healthy fridge thanks to Papa J

Papa J at 4 weeks, 3 days... still in a state of overwhelmed, excited, unsure, etc... (as is Mama Schley)

Grandma and Grandpa Schley are super excited for their first grandchild. Ama and Papa Needham are excited for grandchild #3. Tabby and Elizabeth are first time aunties and Heather is becoming a seasoned "awesome auntie" pro.

Our ultrasound is scheduled for August 17th. Since I was born with a cleft, extra precautions are being taken even though the true cause of clefts isn't proven. I'm taking extra folic acid. I cannot wait to see that little heart beating like a train locomotive.

Baby Schley, keep on growing!
