Fall Break 2011!

Nothing like a Fall Break to bring you back to what's really important, family. Saturday, we had our friends and family over for the game (before which Cara, Trina, and I completed 7 miles).

Sunday, we did our annual Race for the Cure, or Titty Trot as my ever poetic father calls it. I love doing events like this because it brings me back to reality. How lucky am I that this horrific type of cancer hasn't affect anyone I know? I ran the whole thing in 31 minutes. Yep, I kicked ass. Emma did the walk with my mom, Tabby, and Kirstyn. Breakfast afterwards at Mimi's and home for a nap with Emma. Overall, a great day! And daddy painted our downstairs!

Today, our Beanie came over for the morning. She went to Emma's appointment with me and was a great helper. Our Boo Boo is 20.8 pounds and 27.5 inches long. We came home and tried rice cereal for the first time. Tonight's menu is sweet potatoes. Right now, all of the kids are napping even though it's late in the afternoon. And yes, I include my husband and dog in the 'kids'.

Tomorrow, we go to the zoo with Kirstyn and Emma! I love Fall Break!

... Pass to Sunday morning with a cup of coffee...

This break has not been a break at all! Lots of fun, but man, I'm exhausted. Solid foods are going well, until we get to the cereal. Emma cries and cries, but with anything else she slurps it right down!  The zoo was lots of fun and Kirstyn was a great addition to the beginning of our week. She's such a great helper.

Wednesday was full of appointments. Boring, but necessary. Completed an 8 mile run in 94 minutes. Took Emma to the park and put her in a swing. Listened to her laugh her butt off.

Thursday, the Schley family headed to the Mesa Art museum to look at their current exhibits. Emma liked to look at everything and loudly comment whenever she deemed necessary. We went and looked at dining room tables as well. Our family has outgrown the table we have so it was time to start looking. Afterwards, I got some much needed time with Sarah. It's funny how you can work across the hall from someone yet rarely get to really talk. I'm hoping this quarter we get to visit more.

Friday, I had a jammie brunch at my house and Emma met her friend Astrid for the first time. The girls loved each other and it was so nice to see Kelly, Erika, and Sarah :) After the left, I packed up the tubby and headed to Becky's house for Emma's second play date of the day with Hayden and Taylor and mama's much needed time with Auntie Becky. Then, a drop off at Ama and Papa's house so Jonathan and I could celebrate our wedding anniversary! We bought a dining room table, which I've grown to love, and went to a nice dinner. It was very relaxing and nice to reconnect with my husband.

Saturday... 10 miles with Cara... breakfast at Joe's... 2 hour nap with Boo Boo, Hawkeye game (heck yes, they beat Northwestern!)

Sunday--- I am so tired that I refuse to do anything today. I want to hang out with J and Emma at home.  I don't even think I'll go to yoga today. Mama needs a break.
