Mama's first getaway

This weekend, I spent some time with a great friend away. It was my first time away from Emma for more than a day and it was glorious. I did miss my Lou, but I read an entire book, learned a new game, and had some great conversations. It was really nice to take a break and not have my computer.

Summer time and the living's easy.

Emma wasn't all that happy with me when she woke up from her nap. She went to her daddy, but soon warmed back up to me. She's been having some hard times, either teething or having nightmares, which has led her to wake up at 3am for a few days in a row. Not too sure what's going on, but it will pass. 

Emma is starting to talk and actually make a little sense. Her new favorite work is 'apple' (I think) and she always looks so concerned when she talks. She is good at mimicking emotion, which is hilarious. She loves talking on her cell phone, constantly walking around the house saying 'hello?' I really love this stage.
