Let's start, shall we?
1. Spend lots of quality time with my kid and my husband. Use my computer only when she's napping, and even then only when I need to. This Pinterest addiction needs to be quelled. Emma is at the age where she loves being outside and hello, we live in Arizona. No reason to not be outside and playing. Which leads to...
2. Be healthy. (enter Pinterest addiction) I am not making goals to lose weight anymore. I don't want Emma to grow up and inherit by body image issues. My goal is to eat healthy, and enjoy life in moderation. I am not going to say, 'I can't eat... or I can't do...' because it's lame. Yes I can. I'm 31 damn years old. I can do whatever I want, and in telling myself I can't, I want to even more. I love to run. I love to do yoga. I love to ride my bike. I love feeling good. Screw it, I'm going to enjoy my life... just with more fruits and veggies. Which leads to...
3. Cook more. I made (with lots of help) Christmas dinner. I wasn't stressed, I love it. I mean, I loved it. At the end of the meal, when the kitchen was all cleaned up, I felt a sense of accomplishment. It felt good to feed my family. I tried a few recipes while my in laws where here and they liked them (or I think they did). I am usually tired at the end of the day, but nothing makes the end of the day better than a good meal. Which leads to...
4. Plan more. (Hello, my name is Liz and I am type A) The reasoning for planning more is that if I know what I'm eating, it's easier to avoid the bad stuff. I love to make grocery lists and meal lists. Once those are planned, it seems to take a lot of stress off of the meals for the week. I've also already started in on ideas for Emma's first birthday. Which is the antithesis of...
5. Let go and let God. This is my mantra for the year. I can't control life, so I won't let it control me. I figure He knows what's up.
I'm going to take a second to brag, so if you don't want to read on, don't.
It's going to be a great year, I just know it.
Great goals! Thanks for commenting on my blog. Emma is adorable, and it's awesome that you've nursed for so long. I had a terrible time with breastfeeding and quit after 4 weeks and have wished ever since that it had worked out differently.
