Emma currently has two bottom teeth and one of the top teeth has broken through. The second top tooth is the bane of my existence.
I love our pediatrician group, Mesa Pediatrics. LOVE THEM. I just called because we got Emma some acetaminephan to help since nothing else was working and the dosing was confusing. The nurse who called me was so nice and helpful. Usually, I feel like when I ask for advice, medical professionals can be condescending. Not these nurses. I love nurses.
So, I've decided to make a teething survival kit using her advice. It would include the following; acetaminophen, teething toys for the fridge (if you freeze them, you can give the baby frost bite-- I did not know this), pacis (because Emma loves to chew on them) and wine for mama (this was not advised by the nurse, but it doesn't hurt). I would also caution other mama's that your kid may not want to eat. Emma, who obviously hasn't missed too many meals, has gone on a food strike. I'm assuming it's because it hurts. She nurses every 3 hours, but no food. Every time I try, she looks at me like she wants to slap me.
This too shall pass.
But it better pass soon.
Meanwhile, Emma is cruising around the house, crawling like a champ. We've noticed things we need to baby proof. She's a fast little booger.
We had a play date with our friends yesterday. It was so cute to see them together. In another few months, they will be able to play even more (once Emma is more mobile). We definitely need to find a play group come summer, when Emma and I are home and daddy is working.

Cute new template...love it.
ReplyDeleteThe Lou Baby will stage many more hunger strikes before she's through. Those little people seem to know what they need when they need it. Good for you, not panicking over it.
And lucky you, having a great pediatric team working for you and Emma. :)
