Costco

Today, I took the day off of school. I usually take this as an opportunity to get ahead on work, but today all I felt like doing was buying food because let's be honest, that's fun. So, I did some shopping at Fresh and Easy which I love doing because it seems that every time I go, the girls the work there ask me what I am using my greek yogurt for or what I eat with naan. However, today required a Costco trip since our fridge, freezer, and pantry were pretty empty. I begrudgingly drove to Costco and purposefully parked far away to get my extra steps in. I enter the frigid warehouse and immediately forget why I'm there. I go into a sort of daze while I shop while a little Asian women who can barely see over her cart smashes into me. I smile and attempt to walk on, but she stops to ask me what I think about buying bulk cheese. I am slightly caught off guard and lie to her by saying I do it all the time. As I continue to stop I wonder about buying in bulk and other things that I see.

:: why does someone need a 52 pack of Activia? I mean, is it really that bad that you have to commit to a few months of Activia to help?
:: why in God's name isn't your child in school?
:: why did you bring all 10 of your kids to Costco? When I was little, my mom waited for my dad to get home to do all the grocery shopping. I don't need to see your ill behaved child run around crying because you won't buy them a jumbo sized bottle of gin. (that's not a joke)
:: random side child staring at crying kid wondering the previous statement. That just made me laugh.
:: tired, haggard looking mom with two grocery carts full of cereal, milk, eggs, canned goods, and one bouquet of flowers, hopefully for herself. I wondered why no one was helping her? Her kids must be in school.
:: staring at the liquor selection thinking about the last episode of "Intervention" and wondering how in the world someone could down one of those bottles in a day. Ick.
:: why is the cashier so shocked when I ask how her day is going? Are people really not nice to cashiers? That's incredible :(
:: hot dog, chicken bake, pizza, or going home for lunch?

Ah, the woes of a day off...
