The weather has cooled off enough to let us go outside in the morning for more than 5 minutes, so we took the opportunity to take Emma and Kobe to the park this morning. This was the first time Emma has gone and been able to climb up the play structure. She had so much fun and she sure has no fear. She tried to go down the big slide all by herself, but I was able to catch her and prevent any broken limbs. I can't wait until it's nice enough outside to go out when I get home from work as well. Emma loves the outside and we are considering getting her a sandbox for the backyard that she can run amuck in.

This kid is growing up so much. We learned a valuable lesson yesterday at Target. Emma isn't allowed to come to Target anymore and it isn't fair of us to ask her to. She wants to be playing and running, so they trips will be solo from now until she can hang out in the cart for more than 3 seconds. She wants to explore and help put things in the cart, but when you see your 16 month old carrying a huge glass jar of pickles down an aisle, you have to wonder if it's good parenting...
On the fun side, Emma can count to four when prompted and she loves to "read" books to us. She says things like, "Oh boy" in the correct context which is funny because she is totally mimicking us. She knows mama's water (my Starbucks container with the straw), daddy's water (which she isn't allowed to touch because the glass is huge and doesn't have a lid), and Emma's water (a Dora cup). She likes to constantly point out the owner of each cup, but also takes the liberty of sticking her fingers in daddy's water or drinking out of mama's water.
Emma is getting more fun by the day, and a little bit sassy as well as you can plainly see from the picture below.
