Fitness and Food

Please take me running

Here they are. The shoes that will run a 5k in October and help me train for a 10k. Running is the devil and I hate it and so do my knees, but you know what? I don't hate it when I'm doing it and when my belly is starting to shrink. So, I run. I want to do the 5k in under 30 minutes and the 10k in under an hour, both of which are totally feasible. I don't know about a half marathon any time soon, but I want to do another one to improve on my past time and just to challenge myself. Maybe next year.

I'm also back into my weights and yoga now that my knee and shoulder seem to be in working order, thanks to a wonderful chiropractor. I'd say I want to reach a weight goal, but I am so over the scale and weight. I just want to look and feel good, and no scale will be able to tell me that. (Secretly, I will probably weigh myself every month or so, just to see)

I stopped at Sprout's today to get some stuff for J's trail mix and I also got some ground chicken for my taco casserole tonight. I won't use ground beef anymore until I figure out a better way to get it. I love this recipe for taco casserole, even though I do not use WW cheese. I'm not a fan of fat free or sugar free stuff, unless it's milk.  I'm finally at a point in my life where I just want to enjoy my life, but also take good care of myself so I can live a long one. I was always so obsessed with weight and what size I was. No longer. Because in all reality, I would rather be a tad fat and eat good food than skinny and hating everyone.

I ordered another Bountiful Basket for Saturday and added on bread as well as 1/2 gallon of coconut oil. I am stoked.

In mama's shoes
Emma is running around the house sniffing everything and locking herself in her play room... I stopped trying to figure that kid out a long time ago. She picked her nose earlier and tried to feed it to the dog. Needless to say, Kobe wasn't too thrilled at the prospect of a snot ball and he left. He shot me a despondent look before he walked outside.

Isn't he so sweet? Poor puppa...
