When I was pregnant, I got a lot of advice from moms and women who wanted to help even though they weren't themselves moms. Once gem I got was to buy diapers every time we went grocery shopping so we could build a stash. When we had the showers, I got a lot of gift cards so we used them to buy huge packs of diapers. I was told that they stay in size 2 the longest.
Here's my personal take on diapers: (I understand you may not feel the way I do, so if that's the case, get your own blog)
1. Newborn diapers are a waste of money (as are newborn sized clothing)
2. Only by a box of a particular size at a time because you never know. My child only stayed in size two diapers for ONE BOX.
3. Why can't they make diapers that have a long back side to prevent the shit from coming up their back and out the onesie?
4. Printed diapers freak me out, especially the denim ones.
5. Remind me to buy stock in Pampers, Huggies, and Luvs
Now, I do realize that every baby is different, yada yada ya. In that case, screw the advice and just do what's best for your baby. And guess what? You don't know what that is until your baby gets here! I have a girlfriend who is having a baby very soon. I'm been giving her every gem I can possibly think of because honestly, a lot of those helped me through some interesting times. I hope she doesn't think I'm a know it all, because I don't know shit. I feel like as long as Lou baby is fed, clean, and smiling at the end of the day, I've done a decent job. And sometimes, she isn't smiling. Those days, I figure 'what the hell, she's fed, we're good'.
Wow, mommyhood is crazy!
