Work it Out!

So, I am not a fan of my postpartum body. Like, not at all. It's gross. Especially, my flapjack. Yep, I said it. That nasty residual of skin that reminds you how huge you got. I can deal with the stretch marks, because truth be told, I see them as a badge of honor. I grew a person. I kick ass.

Emma Lou, the person I grew

In order to get rid of said flapjack and get out of my transitional clothing (you know, the clothes you have to wear in between your maternity clothes and your normal clothes) by August, I have been exercising. This week, I did 3 days! Today, I even did an 8 mile bike ride with my sister and a bit of yoga afterwards to prevent my entire body from seizing up in pain. I really like yoga and do a little everyday just to keep flexible and pain free. When I get back from vacation, I start my walk to run program followed by a 5 or 10k training program. I loved to run and I want to get that back. The benefits of shrinking the flapjack and the extra fat are a bonus.

Anyway, my reason in telling you this is just to keep me accountable. I know you don't care about my stomach or my plans to get a Sport Illustrated bikini body (ha!), but if I tell people then I have to do it or face the utter embarrassment of being unhappy with my body.

Here's to getting back what I once had and staying healthy for Emma!
